Price: £2,238 (includes membership of PEEL Club)
The certificate combines attendance at the PEEL (Personnel Experts in Employment Law) Club seminars with three written assignments, assessed by the University of Glamorgan. On successful completion and assessment, participants will be awarded the Postgraduate certificate in employment law. This provides 60 credits at masters (M) level.
With focus on contemporary issues, the practical application of Employment Law is the main emphasis for the course.
The certificate aims to
- Provide an opportunity for understanding and analysis of key areas of contemporary employment law and practice.
- Develop skills of critique, especially regarding the practical application of employment law to employing organisations in various sectors, and to prepare for new legal developments.
- Provide an opportunity to focus on contemporary and possibly complex areas of law and policy development so as to enhance HR practice in employing organisations.
- Develop or enhance key skills such as research, evaluation, problem solving and reflection on practice.

Assessment is based on 3 modules
Employment Relationships (20 CATS points)
Opportunity and diversity at work (20 CATS points)
change management, development and support at work (20 CATS points)
Methods of Study
Study will consist of attendance of the PEEL club sessions to allow for discussions and open learning materials.
Assessment
Three assignments will be submitted. Each assignment should not exceed 3000 words in length. Normally, the assignments will be different in character and enable different skills to be assessed.
All will have relevance to the candidate’s work and/or workplace.
The PEEL Club has members who have continued to attend for several years as the world of employment law is ever changing. The Club offers regular updates and a forum for the sharing of experiences and discussion.
