The Level 5 Diploma in management is an award that provides an excellent foundation for the practising or potential middle manager. The programme is designed to assist candidates in gaining the knowledge required and to develop their management skills.
Who is it for?
Although there are no formal entry requirements, candidates should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. If the candidate has no management experience, the recommended programme would be the Introductory certificate in first line management to provide a sound foundation.
The Diploma in management covers a variety of topics, each of which is addressed either through attendance at one of our courses or by a distance learning package. Assessment is through a variety of methods including work-based assignments during the programme and a management report.
There are 8 modules that make up the award. These are:
- Managing information and communication
- Customer focus, marketing and planning
- Maintaining and improving health, safety and quality
- Planning and controlling physical and financial resources
- Developing your management style
- Recruitment and selection
- Managing performance
- Developing teams and individuals.
The certification process can either be for the whole award or on a modular basis. If the candidate opts to follow the modular route, they complete a module including the related work-based assignment and if successful, are awarded the Certificate of module credit.
If a candidate has already successfully completed the Introductory diploma in management certificate from CMI then exemption will be given for the completed/certificated components. This should be discussed before enrolling for the programme.
