Capita Learning & Development provided a Blended learning training solution for National Strategies.
We have been working with the DfES to develop learning for teachers on how to implement the National Standards and improve teaching and learning in schools.
With such a diverse and geographically dispersed population, we have not accepted the normal approach of cascade training supported by ‘events’ run countrywide.
Instead, we have embraced a blended approach, delivering a range of materials including workshops, e learning, collaborative websites and discussion forums. By adopting this approach we have moved to a push pull model, allowing best practice that is being achieved in one are, to be communicated out to the wider population.
Residential and travel costs have been significantly reduced, and more importantly, teachers know where to find the materials and can access them at the right time.
