Postgraduate diploma in internal communication management

Run by Capita Learning & Development in conjunction with Kingston Business School of Kingston University, this well established and widely recognised qualification offers a mix of academic groundwork, practical application and interaction with leading experts in the field. The course is a 1-year programme and provides professional accreditation for internal communication specialists.

  • Design and deliver effective communication strategies, understand the ways in which people receive and accept information, identify appropriate internal communication objectives and policies
  • Evaluate internal communication and the performance of the internal communication team, maintain high quality communication on a continuous basis
  • Anticipate and address issues for the future, produce and action plan for ongoing learning and performance improvement

The course is appropriate for people who are already in the internal communication field and are looking to develop a more strategic approach.

Candidates should have significant relevant experience in internal communication and/or a related professional qualification.

Learning from experience can complement or substitute for academic and/or professional qualifications, providing that candidates can demonstrate significant experience in the internal communication field and the ability to study at a postgraduate level.

  • Understanding the issues involved in internal communication and clearly define the role of an internal communications manager
  • Managing internal communication and understanding its political significance; using internal communication to facilitate organisational change
  • Managing people involved in internal communication, understanding and meeting the different needs of internal customers and influencing people at all levels
  • Evaluating the cost of high and low technology methods and media and selecting the right communication approaches to achieve objectives

Participants will be expected to spend a total of 11 working days attending workshops plus 1 induction day. Students are also expected to spend significant time in personal study and preparing assignments.

Payment:
Must be made in full no later than 14 working days prior to the course start date.

Transfers:
The following charges will apply if you wish to transfer your booking to a later course date:
21+ working days before a course = 0% of the course fee
5-20 working days before a course = 50% of the course fee
1-4 working days before a course = 100% of the course fee

Substitute delegates:
You can transfer a place on a course to a substitute delegate free of charge.

Cancellations:
The following charges will apply if you wish to cancel a course:
21+ working days before a course = 20%
1-20 working days before a course = 100%

Cancellations must be received in writing via email to courses@capita-ld.co.uk and must contain the full booking details including organisation name, booking and delegate contact details.
