This interpersonal skills course is designed to equip individuals with a greater sense of self-awareness and enhanced interpersonal communication skills in order to be more effective in working relationships.

  • Analyse different strategies to deal positively with others and build effective working relationships 
  • Use different techniques to increase your self-confidence 
  • Understand different models and how to apply them to improve interaction 
  • Use practical methods to reduce stress in yourself and others 
  • Influence others to see your point of view 
  • Understand how to manage frustration and anger in yourself and others.
For anyone who wishes to enhance their interpersonal communication skills to improve relationships positively.
Our interpersonal communication skills training course will cover: 
  • Perception - understanding why the way we see the world may not be the same as others see it 
  • Striving for conscious competence: where are we in the model? 
  • Map your world: a model of perception 
  • What are the patterns of thinking? 
  • Appreciating difference; using meta-programmes to identify thinking styles 
  • Understand how to develop greater tolerance and understanding to deal with differences 
  • The OK "corral": a model of interpersonal dynamics 
  • Sending the right message and awareness of the impact of our communication 
  • Identifying the rights of assertiveness: how to be more powerful without becoming more aggressive 
  • The skills of assertiveness and saying no 
  • Building rapport through 'matching' and 'mirroring' 
  • Managing conflict: frustration and anger - how and why do these happen? 
  • How we respond to conflict: destruction to artistry 
  • The techniques to move from conflict to collaboration 
  • The art of giving constructive feedback 
  • Managing your emotions: personal skills and interpersonal skills 
  • Practical work throughout the course to practise the tools and interpersonal communication skills covered including the giving and receiving of constructive feedback.

Payment:
Must be made in full no later than 14 working days prior to the course start date.

Transfers:
The following charges will apply if you wish to transfer your booking to a later course date:
21+ working days before a course = 0% of the course fee
5-20 working days before a course = 50% of the course fee
1-4 working days before a course = 100% of the course fee

Substitute delegates:
You can transfer a place on a course to a substitute delegate free of charge.

Cancellations:
The following charges will apply if you wish to cancel a course:
21+ working days before a course = 20%
1-20 working days before a course = 100%

Cancellations must be received in writing via email to courses@capita-ld.co.uk and must contain the full booking details including organisation name, booking and delegate contact details.
