ILM level 5 award in management

The ILM Level 5 Award in Management is designed to develop core middle management skills and knowledge.

Participants have a degree of flexibility to attend existing Capita Learning & Development open courses that have been mapped to ILM units and will undertake relevant assessments, usually in the form of written assignments to gain this recognised qualification.

  • Gain a recognised national qualification from the ILM and receive the ILM Learner Membership status
  • Choose a selection of your own modules from a range of our open courses to make up the amount of credits necessary to achieve the qualification
  • Develop your core management skills and become an effective practising manager
Practising or aspiring middle managers who want to build upon the foundation of their current role and develop their basic middle management skills and knowledge.
Programme format
The programme comprises a series of face to face workshops. Delegates will have to complete sufficient modules to reach 10 credits under the national qualifications framework to qualify for the award. The mandatory module (Understanding the Management Role) counts for 4 credits. In addition to undertaking the mandatory module, delegates will be able to choose from a range of optional modules in order to achieve the 10 credits required. Following attendance on the workshops, complete the written assessments for each module within 4 weeks of attending (these will be provided to you in the candidate handbook).

Mandatory Modules
For the Mandatory Module, delegates will be required to attend: Effective Middle Management (3-day course) and Communication Skills for Managers (2-day course).

  • M5.14 - Attendance on Finance for Non-Financial Managers
  • M5.15 - Attendance on Project Management: Tools & Techniques

Payment:
Must be made in full no later than 14 working days prior to the course start date.

Transfers:
The following charges will apply if you wish to transfer your booking to a later course date:
21+ working days before a course = 0% of the course fee
5-20 working days before a course = 50% of the course fee
1-4 working days before a course = 100% of the course fee

Substitute delegates:
You can transfer a place on a course to a substitute delegate free of charge.

Cancellations:
The following charges will apply if you wish to cancel a course:
21+ working days before a course = 20%
1-20 working days before a course = 100%

Cancellations must be received in writing via email to courses@capita-ld.co.uk and must contain the full booking details including organisation name, booking and delegate contact details.
