The need to take unnecessary waste out of public services has never been greater. Whilst public sector revenues are set to fall, the deficit reduction has to be set against an increasing demand for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of services. This 1-day course explores the essence of ‘lean thinking’, focusing on eliminating all redundant activities.

  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste in operational and organisational processes
  • Develop an understanding of ‘lean thinking’ principles and how it is being applied in the public sector
  • Gain an understanding of managing the Lean Change Process
All public sector managers responsible for service reviews, performance management, business process operations, improvement and the customer (citizen) service experience.
  • The principles of lean thinking and the lean approach
  • How to implement the lean approach in the UK public sector 
  • Managing the lean change process
  • The importance of value stream mapping and the ability to construct a value stream map for your own service

Payment:
Must be made in full no later than 14 working days prior to the course start date.

Transfers:
The following charges will apply if you wish to transfer your booking to a later course date:
21+ working days before a course = 0% of the course fee
5-20 working days before a course = 50% of the course fee
1-4 working days before a course = 100% of the course fee

Substitute delegates:
You can transfer a place on a course to a substitute delegate free of charge.

Cancellations:
The following charges will apply if you wish to cancel a course:
21+ working days before a course = 20%
1-20 working days before a course = 100%

Cancellations must be received in writing via email to courses@capita-ld.co.uk and must contain the full booking details including organisation name, booking and delegate contact details.
