Council staff in North Yorkshire have voted to take two days unpaid leave every year as part of a shake-up which will save their bosses £2 million. A series of changes to employment terms at North Yorkshire County Council, which will be introduced over the next year, will also see enhanced overtime payments removed, mileage expenses cut by 7p and the authority docking the pay of staff who do not perform well enough or take too much time off sick. The council said staff had been consulted and members of the Unison union had voted to support the final set of proposals.
