Having recently enquired about the number of days paid holiday I receive annually at my current employer, I have been told that I should be receiving another two days a year. I have worked for my current employer for six years. Am I entitled to be paid for my lost days over this working period or at least have my days back this year, thus, getting an extra 12 days holiday this year? Working Time Regulations state that statutory holiday entitlement cannot be carried over from one holiday year to the next. Therefore, unless you were off work due to ill-health and were unable to take your annual leave at that time, you are unlikely to be able to reclaim your lost days.
