Business leaders say that unlocking Britain’s young talent has become a burning issue. Our prosperity will rely on the workforce of the future, so employers should take them seriously.

Despite its current economic woes, Britain’s anticipated growth should fuel a demand for about 2m new jobs by 2017, according to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. There will be demand for managers, professional and technical occupations, workers in culture, media and sports, and personal-service groups. Significant skills gaps exist in the finance, construction, science, engineering and IT sectors.
