David is a MCIPD qualified learning consultant with 18 years experience of training and development working originally running his own business as a chartered surveyor and then as a training manager for major blue chip companies He has a wealth of experience in management and front line customer facing. David delivers a wide range of management and interpersonal skills programmes to Government and Blue Chip clients both nationally and internationally.

David uses NLP in the training room to influence delegates and has a strong belief that training should make a substantial difference to delegates and their organisations. Training concepts should be demystified to make common sense, be easy to understand and applied in the workplace.

David Chivers began his early career in a commercial environment, working for a number of years as a Recruitment Consultant to accountancy firms in the North West region. Following a successful period he moved organisations to further his sales career before undertaking his first step in management for a leading industry specialist.

After 2 years as a Business Manager David moved into the training arena, working for a highly successful training provider that was recognised by the National Training Awards for the standard and quality of training provided. Now based in the North-West David provides training in a number of sectors including; Sales, Customer Service, Management and Interpersonal Skills.

Duncan Gotobed is a professionally qualified trainer with over 10 years of experience of designing and delivering innovative training programmes, which combine leading business thinking with a highly participative approach.

He is a skilled facilitator and coach, who is able to gain ownership and commitment from both individuals and groups by focusing on how they can apply what they have learnt to the workplace. Duncan also creates an environment that enables participants to willingly contribute and share their knowledge/experience with each other.

He is regularly invited back by clients to do additional work with them.

David Soloman joined Capita L&D in July 2006, having spent six months working on the London Borough of Harrow SAP/Contact Centre project.

A trainer since 1980, David is a firm believer in simplicity, creativity and interaction; his courses are good-humoured, participative and behavioural.

David's training career began at Barclays Bank, he was Training Manager during a ten year spell at Reed Personnel, and, whilst freelancing, was an Associate Trainer for both Reed Training and Huthwaite International.

One of his highlights is the design and delivery of an induction training programme to the Parking Services industry: the effectiveness of which was recognised by a National Training Award for his client.



Carol Martin commenced her career within both Recruitment and Sales and gained extensive experience of management and training over the next 15 years’ within one of the UK’s largest recruitment organisations.

Realising her passion for the Training element of her roles, Carol then moved into dedicated training and Management Consultancy, working both with large corporations and small independent organisations and offering training, assessment and coaching at all levels. Since joining Capita, Carol has enhanced these skills yet further and delivers training across a variety of sectors including; Sales and Business Development, Customer Relationship Management, Introduction and Advanced Management Skills, Cultural Diversity and Interpersonal Skills and Time Management, plus Administration and Writing Skills.

Carol prides herself on ensuring that her courses are fun, relevant and informative and has an enthusiastic and passionate approach to every session. Therefore, Carol designs courses that include strong participative elements that afford the delegates the opportunity for small and large group involvement.

Brian Bridges is a very experienced learning consultant with over 20 years experience of designing and delivering training solutions across the UK. He has worked with a wide range of organisations in both public and private sectors, including Government Departments, the AA, Kerry Foods, Manchester University, National Weights and Measures Laboratory, Cheshire Police and many more. He also has extensive management experience with over 10 years in various management positions in the clothing industry.

He has a down to earth, highly participative style, believing that training should be enjoyed not endured. As a result, his sessions tend to be relaxed and informal, but still remain focused on the desired outcomes. He enjoys a reputation for providing practical, no frills solutions, whilst encouraging individuals to identify how they can significantly contribute to the success of their organisations

Brian has helped clients to design and introduce policies and procedures particularly in the areas of Performance management, Absence management, Discipline and grievance, Recruitment and selection and Team briefing. A particular highlight has been the designing and running of Development Centres for managers using both personality and leadership profiling, which led to participants producing personal development plans, followed by series of modular courses to meet needs identified during and following the events.




Judith Hammer is an experienced, international, multi-lingual training professional with 8 years of multidisciplinary training experience in the hospitality, retail, corporate and public sectors. Judith’s delivery style is very empowering, challenging, motivating, energetic, inspirational and passionate. She believes that a participative approach, thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions, as well as sharing the learning process are the key to successful adult learning.

Having worked within and for large multidisciplinary organisations, both at senior and first line manager level, has made her an ideal trainer and engaging communicator.

When you meet Judith, you'll find she is friendly and open, encouraging delegate input and tailoring the course to individual needs as much as possible. Her training courses are fun and energetic with lots of practical and user friendly techniques for you to implement in your workplace and life for a successful future.



Andrea Ives combines 11 year's practical experience at training and development in both the public and private sector.

In recent years Andrea has been involved in teaching and training with a variety of groups to include health and medical professionals, head teachers, NHS staff at all levels, and senior management. She has set up a variety of bespoke training sessions and workshops for large health industry companies including, GSK and Denplan.

Andrea’s specialist subject areas include influence and persuasion, coaching, effective delegation, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, time management, team building, assertiveness skills, creative problem solving and communication and management skills.

With experience of setting up and running her own successful training company, Andrea has a real passion for not just developing people but overcoming the learning barriers within private and public sector organisations.

Andrea also has 6 years experience in both teaching and training within the FE sector and completed her PGCE in 2006.

Her dynamic and open approach enables delegates to feel comfortable but open to change, and challenges them to transform their behaviours and encourage them to apply their learning and aid development.






Damien Shieber is a TAP Accredited Learning Consultant bringing 7 Years practical experience as a Manager with blue chip companies in Sales and front line customer facing roles. After managing large, successful teams he realised his passion for the Training element of his roles and joined Capita Learning & Development.

Since joining Capita, Damien had enhanced these skills yet further and delivers training across a variety of sectors which include Management Skills, Customer Service, Sales, Relationship Management, Confidence Training, Time Management, Influencing Skills, Communication Skills plus Administration and writing skills.

Damien creates a fun, relevant and informative approach to every session and has an enthusiastic and passionate element to all he does. Using these elements his strengths lie in his ability to design and deliver engaging training that relies on a ‘do’ rather than ‘watch’ methodology.

Claire Hopkins is a TAP® Accredited Training Professional, enthusiastic, energetic and highly motivated who always brings fun into the learning environment, Claire is an approachable and trusted “people person” who builds and maintains excellent relationships with her colleagues, delegates and clients alike.

She has a huge creative flair which derives from her art, design and photographic background and her courses always demonstrate this with her style of delivery and methods of learning.

Claire spent 12 years in the recruitment industry as a Recruitment Consultant, Business Manager, Trainer and thereafter the Training Manager for the company. She was responsible for setting up the initial training function, servicing, delivering and managing the training needs for 400+ employees and key stakeholders across the business. Claire also provided training consultancy, coaching and designed and delivered the training for a variety of new client contract implementations such as Transport for London, Liverpool City Council, Royal Mail and the BBC. She was instrumental in the award of the Investors in People accreditation and also an active member of the ISO Management Operations Team.

Since joining Capita Claire has delivered a variety of courses from our brochure and also delivered training internationally in Bahrain, The Middle East in a HR Development Programme to HR professionals.
