FAQs

  • What is transformation?

Transformation is the change that is involved in moving a service delivery model from the current one to a future model that will deliver increased benefits such as reduced cost and higher standards of service.

There are currently many local authority transformation programmes that are design to free up valuable resources and ensure that services are customer focused.
  • How is transformation related to learning and development?

Transformation programmes typically involved changes to processes, technology and people. Where people have to learn to work in a different way, learning and development becomes a core component of a programme. There is often a strong focus on supporting and developing managers so that they become active implementers of change rather than victims of change.
  • Can you give any examples of transformation programmes?

Capita Learning & Development has worked with organisations such as Volkswagen Group and Southampton City Council to transform their learning services, with the aim of:
    - Gaining increased control over spend on learning
    - Reducing the operating cost of learning services
    - Increasing the ability of the learning services to respond quickly and flexibly to new or changing requirements
    - Increasing the quality of learning, ensuring that it is aligned to the business needs of the organisation
